Drug International Ltd (DIL) began its journey in 1974 as a private limited company and was registered with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies. We are the first leading manufacturer of softgel capsule medicines in Bangladesh. Since its establishment, the company has been committed to producing high-quality medicines while adhering to international standards.

Drug International is regarded as a long-established pharmaceutical company in Bangladesh. It was founded by Dr. MM Amjad Hussain in 1980. During the country's economically underdeveloped and impoverished period, DIL quietly and affordably contributed immensely to the health of countless Bangladeshis. Motivated by this mission to serve the nation and its people, DIL became the third-largest API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) manufacturer in Bangladesh in 1997.
It has long been listed among Bangladesh's prominent pharmaceutical companies and is one of the partners of Novartis, one of the world’s top three pharmaceutical giants.
The group includes three large pharmaceutical plants, a biologics facility, a health supplement plant, an oncology research center, Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College, tea estates, garments, ceramics, printing facilities, and a software development company. Currently, it operates in over 70 countries worldwide, with a product line ranging from medical devices to a variety of finished pharmaceutical products, totaling 500 types of medicines.
